Safeguards Technology’s Pipeline Track & Trace™ is a state-of-the-art fiber optic system that provides a clean, high fidelity reproduction of detected events over tens of kilometers.
This all-optical fiber sensor consists of segments that can stretch up to 50km without field repeaters, processors, or any other powered components in the field, thereby drastically reducing the installation cost. The sensing cable can be mounted directly to a pipeline, or buried underground, requires no electrical grounding, and is unaffected by lightning storms and resistant to extreme cold, heat and underwater elements.
Upon detection of an event, the system will alarm, on the
display the affected zone will change from green to red, and the operator can “mouse click” on the red zone to obtain classification information, listen to the event in real time, or switch to other classification/analytical tools, if desired.
